Facial Balancing: Achieving Harmonious Features Without Surgery

What Is Facial Balancing?

Facial balancing is a non-surgical way to bring harmony to your features. It uses dermal fillers, like Juvéderm, and neuromodulators, like Botox or Xeomin, to create better facial symmetry and proportion—think of it as fine-tuning how everything works together.

How Does Facial Balancing Work?

Instead of treating one feature at a time, facial balancing looks at the big picture—how your chin, cheeks, jawline, lips, and more all play together. Small tweaks in volume or shape can shift the way your entire face looks, helping everything feel more aligned and balanced.

Bottom line: It enhances your natural beauty without changing who you are.

Is Facial Balancing Done With Neuromodulators or Fillers?

Usually, it’s a combo of both. Fillers like Juvéderm add volume where it’s needed—like the lips, cheeks, or jawline—while Botox and Xeomin relax certain muscles that pull or crease the skin.

“Fillers, as the name suggests, fill,” says Dr. Will Kirby, Board Certified Dermatologist and Chief Medical Officer of LaserAway. “They volumize areas that are deficient, which might mean adding to lips, cheeks, chin, or temples to balance the face.”

Botox works a bit differently. It softens lines and stops certain muscles from overacting. Dr. Kirby explains, “Botox temporarily relaxes muscles that cause wrinkles or undesired movements, allowing for better overall facial harmony.”

When used together, fillers and Botox or Xeomin can deliver the most natural, balanced results—but sometimes just one is enough, depending on your goals.

Which Areas Are Treated in Facial Balancing?

Every face is unique, but here are some of the most common areas providers focus on:

  • Cheeks: Restores volume and lift in the midface
  • Lips: Subtle shaping for better proportion
  • Smile lines (nasolabial folds) & marionette lines: Softens deep creases
  • Masseter or DAO muscles: Relaxes muscle tension or downward pull

These areas can be treated alone or together, depending on what your face needs for better harmony.

How Can I Rebalance My Face

Start with a consultation from an expert injector who understands full-face aesthetics. At LaserAway, our treatment specialists will discuss your treatment goals with you and create a personalized treatment plan using fillers, neuromodulators, or both. It doesn’t take much—just a few well-placed injections can bring your features into better balance without surgery or downtime.

How Long Do Results Last?

That depends on what’s being treated and the products used:

  • Fillers typically last 12 to 24 months, depending on the area and the product used
  • Botox and Xeomin usually last about 2 to 4 months

Most people come in for touch-ups—Botox and Xeomin two or three times a year, and Juvéderm once or twice a year—to maintain their results.

What Happens During a Treatment?

Once one of our clinicians creates a plan just for you, the treatment itself usually takes 30 to 60 minutes. You can head right back to your day afterward.

  • Fillers show results right away and continue to improve over the next week or so
  • Botox starts working in 3 to 5 days and reaches full effect around the two-week mark

You’ll walk out looking refreshed, more balanced, and totally natural—never overdone.
