Which Areas of the Body Can You Get Laser Hair Removal?

Can you get laser hair removal anywhere on the body?

Laser hair removal blows other more traditional hair removal methods, such as shaving and waxing, right out of the water, which is why it has gained more popularity throughout the years. How come? Not only is laser hair removal safe and effective on all skin types, but it can result in up to 80% permanent hair reduction after a series of treatments. Other hair removal methods don’t come anywhere near these benefits. But, can you get it on all areas of the body? Let’s find out more!

Yes, laser hair removal can be used on almost all parts of the body

Laser hair removal is safe and effective on almost all parts of the body, including the face, arms, chest, shoulders, back, bikini area, and legs. At LaserAway, we treat the following areas using The Cynosure Apogee Elite, which is the most advanced laser hair removal technology on the market:

Face: We can treat the upper lip, nose, ears, sideburns, jawline, cheeks, forehead, center brow, and chin

Arms: We can treat underarms, arms, hands, and fingers

Body: We can treat the chest, areola, shoulders, back, feet, toes, sacrum, abdomen, derriere, and happy trail

Bikini: We can treat the bikini line and Brazilian areas

Legs: We can treat upper and lower legs

While laser hair removal can be used on almost any part of the body that grows hair, there are some areas that are not considered safe or effective, such as the eyelids and surrounding areas, tattooed skin, the inside of the nose, and the scalp.

How does laser hair removal work?

In short, laser hair removal works by using light pulses to selectively destroy hair follicles in the active growth stage. The lasers target the melanin (color) in them, which absorbs the laser’s light pulse, without affecting surrounding skin, to safely destroy the root of the hair.

Who is a good candidate for laser hair removal?

The lasers that we use at all LaserAway locations safely and effectively treat all skin types and most skin and hair combos on all areas of the body with hair that are safe to treat. That being said, since our lasers target hair pigment, we are unable to treat hair that’s blonde, red, grey, or white. Laser hair removal also can’t be safely performed on tattooed, sunburned, or damaged skin.

How many laser hair removal sessions will I need?

The number of sessions you’ll need all depends on the hair’s density and the location of the area being treated. You’ll need multiple sessions regardless of the area of the body you’re treating because only hair follicles in the active growth stage can be successfully targeted during a laser hair removal treatment. After a series of sessions, you’ll experience permanent hair reduction.
